Rules for TD Training Kanasta Friends

1. Never lose your temper. If you feel yourself losing control ask for help on messenger. (I need a break can anyone help please) We are a team and should all be willing to help each other as needed.

2. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your training slot. Please make sure that you have your trainee ready to pay attention.

3. Be sure you have read the CODE OF CONDUCT and are familiar with our rules. Make sure to give them the link to the KF TD CENTER and show them around there so they understand where to get rules and such.Tell them to save it for future reference.

4. All Trainers must teach how to screen shot SNIPPING TOOL ALL COMPLAINTS AND EMAILS MUST INCLUDE A SCREEN SHOT TO SHOW THE PROBLEM. We need this for cases. If on a MAC ~ Press and hold Shift, Command, and then press 5.

5. HOW TO DEBUG A TABLE: a table that has problems...i.e. five red 3's, 14 wilds, ten 7's, cant set options etc...to debug you press CTRL + ALT + D AT THE SAME TIME, DESCRIBE THE PROBLEM THEN SUBMIT.

6. As a Trainer, you are required to have your trainee preset 2 hours of tournaments. You may 'take a block' by putting a tournament in your starting time and a tournament at your ending time. MINIMUM BLOCK TIME OF 2 HOURS. You will need your trainee to fill in the block with the tournaments as soon as you are able to. When making tournaments: Please put up at a minimum - singles tournaments every 15 minutes and Doubles must be set 00 and 30 min. Mini Swiss Dubs are only to be put on 15 or 45. Make sure all mini swiss are TRUE SWISS marked, make sure they understand even if it is a preset they must select swiss system when creating it.

7. TIMER'S AND BRB'S: DOUBLE GAMES:...If a game has not started you wait 5 min FROM POST of game in lobby then get a sub...If both players on a team are absent they have 10 min to get to the table, if they do not show up they time out and other team wins. If one team member shows up at six past or 9 past you IMMEDIATELY get a sub if none is found you as a td sit and sub. If the sub starts a game the sub finishes the game PERIOD. If the original player asks for their seat back you tell them they can play the next rd if they win (or in a mini they can play the next rd) If the game is started you IMMEDIATELY get a sub if one of the players poof.
SINGLES GAME: if a player is missing you time them from TIME OF POST in lobby. They have 10 min to get to the table or they time out. That time goes against their 10 min.
BRB'S: A player has 3 brb's per game that are only 3 min long.If you are called to a table where a brb has lasted more than 3 min you then time them from the time of their BRB and add that to their 10 min total. If a player's time reaches 10 min the other opponet(s) are declared the winner(s)...this apllies for both singles mini's and doubles.

8. What to do when a table is made incorrectly.

A. If the table is incorrect and there is no posted score, the game is cancelled and they will remake the table and start over.

B. If a table should be 421 or 221 (NTC games) but the table was made 422 or 222 and there is a score posted on the table, the game will continue on with needing two canastas until there is a winner.

C. If a table should be 422 or 222 (NT games) but the table was made 421 or 221 and there is a score posted on the table, once it is posted in the table chat area that the table is made wrong, the game WILL continue, but neither team shall go out until there are two canastas made. If a team goes out without the required two canastas it will be considered a DQ.

9. Please ensure your trainee is marking their winners from round to round. The members check the standings pages and will complain if you do not keep them marked correctly and if anyone needs to take over they know what post you are waiting on. You MUST close out your tournaments as you go along. Not doing so, causes issues with standing, and members pay attention to that.

10. Always be aware of the RESTRICTED PLAYERS LIST This list changes alot so pls instruct your trainees to check this list often.

11. TOURNEY CALENDAR: Watch what the td's are making an hour BEFORE your shift and an hour AFTER your shift and try not to make what has already been made. SPECIALS: When making the specials alternate them...if the 9am was a singles make the noon a dubs and so on.

12. TIMEOUTS: When having your trainee post pairs, if the FIRST name and the SECOND name are not in the lobby, then in that Round, the FIRST name times out, and the SECOND name advances. In the following round, that person automatically times out.

13. Your trainee must have a bold, easy to read font and the color needs to be reasonably dark. If another staff member asks you to change the color, please do so. If you are playing as a member, please use any color you choose.

14. Everyone loves their tournament pages to look beautiful but when you make your pages, you need to check that every link works properly. The entire tournament needs to be easy to see and read. Some members have vision problems, so if you are asked by a member or staff to change your font colors, please do so. There is no need for smart remarks, just change them and make sure in the future they are correct.

15. You must have your messenger turned on while in LOBBY. All members that are playing must have their messenger on. If a members messenger is not on while in the lobby, they may not play or enter a tournament. If a players messenger is off, flag them once "turn on messenger when in lobby please" if they do not turn it on, soft boot and make sure you put the reason "they didn't turn on messenger when asked in lobby"

16. TOURNEY CORRECTIONS: Make sure your trainees know how to make a tourney correction....I would purposefully have them screw up a tourney so you can walk them thru this.

17. When someone is missing (MIA): You can NEVER have 2 subs for a doubles game on the same team.

18. Members cannot hold tables. Message them and kindly ask them to leave table. If they get upset, politely tell them you would like to use the table. If they refuse to leave the table, soft boot and put the reason: members are not allowed to sit at tables, if they are not playing.

19. Do not abuse the email TD'S / HTD'S FROM THE TD MENU UNLESS IT IS A NOTICE FOR ALL TD'S. DO NOT EMAIL YOUR PERSONAL ISSUES / RANTS / OR INDIVIDUAL PROBLEMS TO ALL STAFF. INSTEAD PLEASE EMAIL YOUR TRAINER OR ADMIN ONLY.

20. We do not delete tournaments that don't fill. We remove the players and move the tournament to another time period and close it. You will then use it the next time you host. If there is an issue such as dropping teams / players then you can delete the tournament.
