Requirements to be a HTD for Kanasta Friends

1. As a HTD you are required to host 20 tournaments per week. A week is Sunday through Saturday. Please pre-set your tournaments as much in advance as possible. Pre-setting helps Admins and other TD's see what times need extra attention. We host over 800 tournaments a week so having a full calendar is a priority. Remember no slot blocking. Fill in your tourneys from the time you want to host until the time you want to finish. Make blocks minimum of 1 hour and maximum of 5 hours. If you do not arrive early, an HTD or Admin may move your tournaments and either fill the block or ask someone else to fill that block. Please do not be surprised if one of your fnf tournaments has to be started by an HTD or admin. We try to avoid this but it does ocassionally happen. We are a team and we work together.

If you have not hosted for 2 weeks in a row (without clearing it with the TD manager):

~1st offense, you will be placed on vacation and you must contact the TD manager to discuss.
~2nd offense, you will be demoted to TD.
~3rd offense, you will be removed from staff.

Of course we understand there will be times you cannot host. Let the TD manager know so these rules can be waived.

2. Due to the fact we host so many tourneys and the lobby gets so confusing at times there are certain hosting rules that we must insist you follow. It is of vital importance that our HTD staff members know the rules and are willing to help the TD's when they get in trouble. We must all play from the same page so that it does not appear that we are showing favoritism.

3. As HTD's you will sometimes be required to handle disputes and you must do this in a professional and even handed way.

4. ALL HTD's must read emails, daily results and message forums.

~Daily Buzz - Go to our home page, click standings tab, click "Daily Buzz" (directly below the standing tab).
~Message Forums - Go to our home page, click community tab, click "Message Forums" (directly below the community tab).

5. An HTD needs to help new members with any problems that arise and help people join the league. HTD's should be nice and considerate to all the members of the league.

6. Make sure you pay attention to the lobby at all times. If you have to leave your computer ask another TD if one is present to watch your tourneys for you. Also say BRB in lobby to the members so they will know you are not at your computer.

~Should an emergency arise get a HTD or Admin to run your tourneys for you. Make sure they know you are leaving before you leave the lobby.

7. An HTD should inform all members to not go to the tables without their permission (KIBITZER / WATCHING), if you don't inform the members then they will not know. All TD's do this differently. Members cannot watch one another play.

8. HTD'S should be in the lobby at least 30 minutes before their tourneys start.

9. Please DO NOT try and help your fellow TD's in the lobby with posts. The chat in the lobby is often so heavy it just adds to the confusion and causes posts and help for players to be missed. If you believe the TD has missed something (give them a minute or 2 after you see it) then IM them and ask.

10. Please be considerate of the TD hosting before you and do not start asking for players in yours until theirs are running. You can always send them a message asking if you can advertise both of your tournaments or vice versa (we are a team).

11. As HTD's you must be ready to step in and host tourneys of TD's who have been booted / don't show / have an emergency / need help. We only ask you to host those tourneys that have people in them when a TD doesn't show. Close and move any additional tournaments, let an admin know and send out a email to all staff the calendar needs filling(SOS Email). If you would like to fill in the slots no email to all staff is needed, however please send an email to admin to let them know the situation (give times).

12. ALL HTD's MUST know how to run Double Eliminations and Swiss tournament. You are not required to host them, but you MUST know how to host them incase you are needed to help cover one.

13. If you see a TD doing something you think is wrong please let the admnin or a trainer know either by IM or email. Do not contact the TD directly while they are hosting as it may cause delays and confusion. UNLESS it directly effects the format of the tournament, then please work with the hosting TD.

14. HTD'S are expected to help TD's and members. There is an expectation that you are not only in the KF lobby while hosting your 20 tournaments a month. There is no way you can be helping any other TD's, if you are only here when you host your tournaments. We encourage HTD's to come in and play and spend time in KF.

15. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE DO WE SPAM OUR LEAGUE INFO IN ANY OTHER SAFE HARBOR LOBBY

~whether it's in your league name or any other name you may have on SAFE HARBOR you still can NOT spam this info anywhere else but our lobby.
~If you see any other league advertising their league info in the KF lobby: Please take a screen shot, if possible, and get an ADMIN so it can be dealt with ASAP. If an admin is not online either email them with the info and the name of the person that spammed it or leave the admin an offline.

16. Always remember that the players have bad days (we do too but we must not let them see it). Don't take these things personal as tomorrow they will love you as much as they did yesterday.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO KEEP DRAMA OUT OF LOBBY.
PEOPLE COME HERE TO PLAY AND HAVE FUN NOT TO LISTEN TO PEOPLES PROBLEMS WHETHER THEY ARE OURS OR THEIRS
